Authors Note: This essay is compare and contrast about survival in the books Hatchet and Guns For General Washington
What would you do if you had to survive on your own? Survival is a main theme in the books Hatchet by Gary Paulsen and Guns For General Washington by Seymour Reit for a variety of reasons. These books are both survival because they both have lack of supplies. They also both have to come up with a plan to build a shelter. They also need to keep them warn and find food for them to survive. Also these books are in the middle of the wood and have to fight cold weather. Majority of the people would say if you had to survive on your own they would call for help.
To start my journey, Hatchet and Guns For General Washington are both great survival books. They both are Survival books because they both have lack of supplies and if you don’t have supplies you can’t survive. These books need to think of a way to get supplies. They need food and water in order for them to survive.
To keep the ball rolling, there is more similarity in these books that the main theme is survival. Also both of these books are survival books because they had to come up with an idea for shelter. They also need to think of an idea to stay warm. That is another reason why both of these books are survival books. But both of these books do not follow the same plot line.
As you know that both of these books don’t follow the same plot line because they both have a different seen. Guns For General Washington is in the middle of a war. And Hatch is in the middle of the forest tiring to survive. But even though the plot lines are different that doesn’t mean that they both have the same theme.
To close my case you can tell that both of these survival books Guns For General Washington and Hatchet. These books are survival books because they have to find food and build shelter. They need to stay worm and not get lost in the woods. And that is why both of these books are survival books.

Guns For General Washington
Authors Note: This Text structure is about the cause and the effects in the book Guns For General Washington
In the book Guns For General Washington ,by Seymour Reit, there are many causes and effects in the book Guns For General Washington. But the main cause and effect in the book is when they run out of supplies. And the effect is that the have to out smart the British because they ran out off supplies and they need to win this war.
The cause in this book is that they are running out of supplies. This is affecting them because they are going to have to do something daring. They need to think fast and they end up coming up with a plan. There plan is that they will have to carry all of their heavy weapons to Boston because they have to outsmart the British.
The cause is that they are running out of supplies and it is the cause because if they would have supplies they would have not had to outsmart the British the Americans could have just battled the British if they had ammo. But now they are waking with their 183 canons to Boston. The effect in the story is that they have to outsmart them because they ran out of supplies.

Supplies For Americans
Authors Note: This piece is the point of view of Will Knox
In the Book Guns for General Washington, there is a major problem, General Washington’s army ran out of supplies and there in the middle of the war vs.ing the British.The story is written in Will Knox point of view. From this perspective, a lot of events and characters are described in a way that creates anger, sadness, and happiness. In this book it is about the events that happen in the Revolutionary War.
One way that Will Knox point of view influences the reader's interpretation is how this perspective describes/shows the Revolutionary War. And a different character is General Washington. This book influences me by understanding the Revolutionary war better. The details of the revolutionary war in the story Guns for General Washington is that they ran out of supplies. And some of the people don’t want to agree with General Washington. They decided to outsmart the British and take the back rout.
However, the reader would feel a lot differently about the Revolutionary War if the novel was written in the point of view of the British. For instance, the reader wouldn't think/react the same if one of the British wrote the book. People would think that the war would be easy because the Americans are running out of supplies. And people would think that we are bad people and they are good people.
As you can see, the point of view of a story forces the reader to see just one side of an event or topic. In the book Guns For General Washington, the narrator's perspective makes the reader think more about the story, because if someone else wrote the story the people would think different about the book. This book is a good book because it can help people understand the way it was back in the Revolutionary War.
