Authors Note: This essay is compare and contrast about survival in the books Hatchet and Guns For General Washington
What would you do if you had to survive on your own? Survival is a main theme in the books Hatchet by Gary Paulsen and Guns For General Washington by Seymour Reit for a variety of reasons. These books are both survival because they both have lack of supplies. They also both have to come up with a plan to build a shelter. They also need to keep them warn and find food for them to survive. Also these books are in the middle of the wood and have to fight cold weather. Majority of the people would say if you had to survive on your own they would call for help.
To start my journey, Hatchet and Guns For General Washington are both great survival books. They both are Survival books because they both have lack of supplies and if you don’t have supplies you can’t survive. These books need to think of a way to get supplies. They need food and water in order for them to survive.
To keep the ball rolling, there is more similarity in these books that the main theme is survival. Also both of these books are survival books because they had to come up with an idea for shelter. They also need to think of an idea to stay warm. That is another reason why both of these books are survival books. But both of these books do not follow the same plot line.
As you know that both of these books don’t follow the same plot line because they both have a different seen. Guns For General Washington is in the middle of a war. And Hatch is in the middle of the forest tiring to survive. But even though the plot lines are different that doesn’t mean that they both have the same theme.
To close my case you can tell that both of these survival books Guns For General Washington and Hatchet. These books are survival books because they have to find food and build shelter. They need to stay worm and not get lost in the woods. And that is why both of these books are survival books.

In the book Guns For General Washington ,by Seymour Reit, there are many causes and effects in the book Guns For General Washington. But the main cause and effect in the book is when they run out of supplies. And the effect is that the have to out smart the British because they ran out off supplies and they need to win this war.
The cause in this book is that they are running out of supplies. This is affecting them because they are going to have to do something daring. They need to think fast and they end up coming up with a plan. There plan is that they will have to carry all of their heavy weapons to Boston because they have to outsmart the British.

Supplies For Americans
Authors Note: This piece is the point of view of Will Knox
In the Book Guns for General Washington, there is a major problem, General Washington’s army ran out of supplies and there in the middle of the war vs.ing the British.The story is written in Will Knox point of view. From this perspective, a lot of events and characters are described in a way that creates anger, sadness, and happiness. In this book it is about the events that happen in the Revolutionary War.
One way that Will Knox point of view influences the reader's interpretation is how this perspective describes/shows the Revolutionary War. And a different character is General Washington. This book influences me by understanding the Revolutionary war better. The details of the revolutionary war in the story Guns for General Washington is that they ran out of supplies. And some of the people don’t want to agree with General Washington. They decided to outsmart the British and take the back rout.
However, the reader would feel a lot differently about the Revolutionary War if the novel was written in the point of view of the British. For instance, the reader wouldn't think/react the same if one of the British wrote the book. People would think that the war would be easy because the Americans are running out of supplies. And people would think that we are bad people and they are good people.
As you can see, the point of view of a story forces the reader to see just one side of an event or topic. In the book Guns For General Washington, the narrator's perspective makes the reader think more about the story, because if someone else wrote the story the people would think different about the book. Dynamic Character vs. Static character
Authors Note: This is a 5 paragraph about Johnny being a dynamic character.
There are many people that are dynamic characters in the book "The
Outsiders" by S.E. Hinton such as Ponyboy, Randy, and Johnny. The majority of the
public believe that Johnny is the most dynamic character in the book the outsiders,
because he becomes form the kid of gang to a criminal to a hero.
For starters, Johnny is a dynamic character for many reasons. He is not a
static character because he changes a lot in the book the Outsiders. A static
character does not change a lot and a dynamic character does. When the book started
out Johnny was a soft character and he cared about the people in his gang, like
Dally, Sodapop, Darry, and Ponyboy. Johnny and Dally are like brothers despite the
fact that they are not related.
To further express my opinion Johnny killed Bob in chapter 4 .Johnny said “I
killed him”. Johnny killed Bob because Bob was going to kill Ponyboy by drowning
him. And Johnny wanted to protect Ponyboy because they were really good friends and
in essence the where family. Johnny also ran away from the cops because he did not
want to get put in the electric chair.
In other words Johnny became a hero. Because when the church was burning
down Johnny saved some of the kids that where in the burning church therefore,
risking his life. Parts of the roof collapsed on top of Johnny witched injured him.
Johnny spent the rest of his life in the hospital. On chapter 9 Johnny died and his
last words where “Stay gold Ponyboy” He died for the other kids that where in the
church. This all made Johnny become a dynamic character because he changed from
killing Bob to saving the kids from the church.
Closing my case, Johnny is the most dynamic character in the novel The

Stereotype
Authors Note: This is a peace about people in the outsiders and people stereotype them.
What would you think if people stereotyped you? People think that the
greasers are bad people. Other people stereotype the greasers by their looks and
because they are pour. Today I’m going to prove you wrong. The grasser are good
people you can’t just look at them and say you can’t fit I’m my group. If someone
stereotyped me I’d be disappointed.
To start my journey, people think that the grasers steal and think that
they are bad people. The people that think that are wrong because on chapter 6 the
church burns down and Johnny and Ponyboy save the kids from the burning church and

What Should Johnny and Ponyboy Do
Dear; Johnny and Ponyboy
What do you think Johnny do? Johnny is in trouble with the cops
because Johnny asphyxiated Bob. Johnny wants' to run away from the cops
and stay in the church that he had found. However we think that Johnny
should move down to Texas because Dally told the cops he and Ponyboy moved
down to Texas. Johnny and Ponyboy should go move to Texas for many of
reasons.
To keep the ball rolling, Jonny and Ponyboy should hide in Texas
instead of the church. They should both move to Texas because Dally told
the cops that they went to Texas. The cops have been looking for them for
a long time because of what had happened to Bob. Since the cops are
looking for Johnny and Ponyboy they changed their hair to a different
color. Johnny and Ponyboy will look different then what the cops see him
as.
It's pretty clear that in Texas the weather is spectacular. In there
church where they are staying the weather is freezing cold. If they move
to Texas they would not have to freeze. In Texas the weather is worm all
year. Also the water that they are using is freezing cold and will freeze
and they won't be able to drink the water because it will be frozen.
To seal the envelope, they should move to Texas because the weather
will be great. And Johnny and Ponyboy won’t be freezing cold. The cop's
already searched in Taxes for Ponyboy and Johnny. They also changed their

Are You Proud Of Your Country
I’m not proud of my country because the taxes are way too high. Also there are
lacks of jobs, which are making our economy struggle. There is also, a lot of
pollution killing lives, polluting our fresh air, and polluting the clean water.
All of this is hurting our economy this all needs to stop now. For example there is
a lack of jobs. Those lacks of jobs are making our economy struggle. There are not
a lot of jobs making the rich that don’t have jobs turning them to pour, and the
pour in to poorer. All of that is making our economy struggle. Another thing that
is a problem is that the taxes are way too high. They should tax the rich and not
tax the poor. Because what is happening is that the poor are getting more poor. And
the rich have so much money they just throw it around and get whatever they want.
For instance there is way too much pollution in our country. Like the landfills get
full and we have to pay for another place to put it. There is a lot of pollution

Why You Should Like Basketball Better Then Baseball

Authors note: this is a letter that talks about why basketball is better than baseball.
Hey Daniel,
Your friends have been saying that you like baseball better than
basketball and today I’m going to prove you wrong. Basketball is way
better than baseball because there are quarters in basketball and there
are nine innings in baseball. Also whenever you make a basket in
basketball you get points and in baseball you only get points from home
runs and by running all around the bases. In basketball you can control
the basketball by dribbling and passing. In baseball all you can do is
throw the ball to first, second and third base or catch a ball. Basketball
is better in many ways like controlling the ball and shooting.
To begin with basketball has four quarters. Each quarter is twenty
four minutes in the NBA. In baseball there are 9 innings and they can last
a long time because there is no time limit for each inning. The four
quarters are better because the game does not go forever. Also in baseball
you have to wait your turn to hit the ball and there are three outs. In
basketball they always put in players.
On the other hand basketball is also better because you make points by
shooting the ball and making the ball in the hoop. In baseball you only
make points by hitting a home run and that is hard to do because you have
to hit the ball like four hundred feet. Also in baseball you have to run
all the basses to make a point. And in basketball you can shoot a three
pointer from the three point line.
In addition basketball is better because you can control the ball by
passing and by dribbling. In baseball you have to throw the ball from the
outfield to the base and the ball can get out of control. In basketball
you have to have a good skill by trying to trick the person out so they
won’t steal the ball from you. And also you always want to practice
shooting the ball because the more you practice the better the shooting is.

and you will love it. It is easy just start out with the basic. Like
passing shooting and dribbling and you will be good at it. In basketball

Trailblazers Vs Bull Dogs
Tomorrow is a big day for the Trailblazers because they are playing the bull
dogs in the championship game. The record for the Trailblazers are 15-2 and the
bull dogs’ record is 17-1. The best player on the trailblazers is Zach and his
average is 15 points per game and the second best player is Joey and he averages 13
points per game. And the bull dogs best player is Sam with an average of 17 points
per game and there second player is Dan with an average of 14 points per game. The
game starts at 12:00 today and I am so happy. This is the trailblazer’s first
championship game. And this is the fourth championship game for the bull dogs. It
is 12:00 and the game has started. Bill on the trailblazers won the toss and he
passed it to me and I scored. The bull dogs have the ball and they scored. After
the first quarter it was 30 trailblazers. And 28 bull dogs. The second quarter
starts and the bull dogs have the ball; they score. And then the trailblazers have
the ball and he shoots and he gets a foul. He gets two shoots on the line. Jack
makes the two shoots for the team. After the second quarter the bulls have 53 and
the trailblazers have 46 points. The coach has a big talk with them at half time
saying
“Guys you got to work harder and we need to win this game.” The coach shoed the
players and the third quarter was up. During the third quarter the trailblazers
scored but the bull dogs scored as well. The defense was bad and the offence was
good which made the bull dogs really good. The trailblazer had bad offence and bad
defense; the coach told them you better wake up. At the end of third quarter the
score was 53 trailblazers and 60 bulldogs. The game was so close and the fourth
quarter started and the crowd roared and the players worked hard. During the fourth
quarter the bull dogs fell asleep and the trailblazers were good as they tied the
game. The game went to over time and the players where happy because they had a
good chance. Toward the end of the game with 4.02 minutes left on the clock the
bull dogs were struggling to stay with the trailblazers. The bull dogs with 64 and
the trailblazers 79. The trailblazers winning by fifteen points they were really
happy The bulls where catching up. The score was 69 bull dogs and 79 trailblazers.
No time outs but the trailblazers had one time and falling behind. The score 76
points for the bull dogs the trailblazers with 79 points. The bull dogs scored a
three pointer and a foul which gave them 4 points. With 30 15 seconds left. The
trailblazers with one time out they use it .
The couch said “What are you guys doing out there.” The bull dogs with the lead
and win by one. The trailblazer have the ball and they miss the last shot. The game
was over and the bull dogs won 80-79. The trailblazers crying on the floor because
they wanted to win the game. They said good game to each other and trailblazers
left the game with a loss. And the bull dogs were happy and went home with a win.

say “ I’ll see you tomorrow.”

End of the year
I can’t wait till the end of the year because school is ending. But the bad thing
is that I’m going to lose all the good teachers that I had this year. But I’ll get
new teachers next year. I don’t want school to end because there is nothing to do in
the summer. School you can do fun activities and see your friends every day but in
summer you barely see them. The only good thing is that is summer and it is worm
out.And that you will get no homework.

To begin with basketball is my favorite sport because there is a lot of action. There is a lot of action because they are always scoring points end to end. I like when there is only 5 minutes left on the clock because the score is really close. I like playing basketball because you’re always running not like football when you’re just sitting on the bench. Basketball has a lot of action because when they score the winning point everyone is cheering and it is so cool.
Another is that baseball in not my favorite sport but it is the most exciting sport. It is most exciting sport because when people hit a homerun or a grand slam and the fireworks shout up like rockets in the sky. I love when the brewers are loosening by one and they are in the last inning and they hit a homerun making them win. Baseball is exciting because people always try to steal bases and it is so cool. I think it is funny when the player gets in a pickle. A pickle is when they are trapped and can’t get out.
That is why sports were invented so we can be fit. If sports weren’t invented we would all be on the couch or watching TV. That is why sports are so important. If we didn’t have sports we would probably farm or something boring like that. Who wants to sit in a tractor all day seeding or harvesting or plowing. Not me. 4 Day Weekend
This Friday we are off of school. And we are off on Monday. This
makes it a four day weekend. I was going to go the carnival that is at
Village Park. But I looked at the paper and it said the carnival will not
go on this year because we have to pay for security. I think that is so
dumb. But I’m probably going to go the Memorial Day parade. I hope I get a
lot of candy because it is so good. I love how the failovers in your mouth
melt when you have cotton candy. And I love how the mints last long in
your mouth. I hope I have a blast on this four day weekend.

Summer
Over the summer I’m going to go to a basketball camp in Indiana. I’m
going to have a blast and I am going with my friend. I will take a small
plain to Indiana and then I will drive to the camp from the airport. I have
no clue what I am going to be doing but it sounds like a lot of fun. And
another thing I’m doing over the summer is watching TV playing out side.

Jacob’s Story
There once was a little boy named Jacob. Jacob lived in a small town
called Pewaukee. Pewaukee was in a state called Wisconsin. Jacob was only
13 when his parents died. They both died in a car crash. So Jacob had to
get adopted. He got adopted by these two people called Marry, and John.
When Jacob went to his adopted house it was so big. His adopted parents
lived in North Carolina. Jacob loved his adopted parents. When he went to
school he was so popular. He got popular on the first day. Everyone likes
him and they say he is the best person. When Jacob went home that night no
one was in the drive way. He thought something was totally wrong. All the
sudden a Lamborghini pulled into the drive way. The Lamborghini was
yellow. But he thought for a moment. His adopted parents didn’t own a
Lamborghini. He looked in the Lamborghini and Little Wane was in the car.
If you don’t know who that is that is a famous rapper. Jacob listens to
him all the time. Little Wane came out of the car and said im your new
baby sitter. I will come and watch you Monday through Friday. Jacob was so
happy he asked him if Little Wane could bring all of his friends on time.

Joe's dream come true
Once upon time there was a guy named Joe. His favorite sport was
football. Joe’s dream was to be in the NFL. He played for his school team
called the Bull Dogs. He was the best person on the team. One day when he
was in high school a guy came up to him and said “You are really good”.
When Joe went home there was a letter in his mail box. Joe opened the
letter and it was from Robert. It said Joe can you play for me in college
I think you will be really good. So he played for Bull Dogs in college.
Then the NLF draft came and he was the 11th pick. He was going to the
Green Bay Packers and was so excited. After that year he got an award for
most improved player and player of the year. Joe’s dream came true! Joe
played for the Green Bay Packer for 12 years. His position is the quarterback.
When Joe was done playing football he go into the hall of fame. And was the
best quarterback in the world. When he was 40 years old he stopped playing
football. He was looking for job to give him something to do. But Joe
had a great idea. He had always wanted to make his own business when
he was a little kid like 5. So he went to college for 5 years. Now Joe
was 45. He had the money to make a business. So he built a business.
It was called the computer store. It sold all kinds of computers of all
sizes and colors. He made so much money. He had so much money
he gave it to the poor. And everyone like him. And that is how Joe's

I have an IPod Touch it is so cool. I love it because you can go on iTunes on your IPod. You don’t have to go on to the computer. I love IPod because you can listen to music and play apps. I love major league baseball because you can go to the stadium. My favorite baseball stadium is the Milwaukee Bewares because they are the Wisconsin Baseball Team. I love that you can pick where your seat is. I always like to sit close and try to catch a baseball. I also like to sit close because I can see everything. I’ve caught one in my life. It was the best time of my life because a guy threw me the ball and I caught it. My favorite player on the brewers is Ryan Braun because he sighed a 10 year contract. He wants to try to get other people on the team and I think that is really cool. The good thing about going to a baseball game is that you don’t have to watch commercials.

The Hundredth Dove
What would you do if you had to catch 100 doves for the king’s weeding? This is what happens in the short story “The Hundredth Dove” by Jane Yolen. The hundredth dove was my favorite short story because it was following the mode of symbolism. This short story the hundredth dove was following the tragedy plot line. If I where the fowler that had to catch 100 doves for the king I would go with what the queen said and ask her if she wants 100 doves for her wedding.
To begin with this short story follows the tragedy mode of literature. Main charter is in conflict because the fowler has to catch 100 doves for the king and queen’s weeding. The main charter is in conflict because this is the kings wedding and if he doesn’t have 100 doves he will be in trouble. Main charter rises to power because the fowler never misses birds. This is a rise to power because the flower never misses a bird so that he will catch them all. Tragic flaw is that he is one short from 100. This is a flaw because he needs 100 birds by tomorrow for the wedding. Tragic fall is that the main charter doesn’t know that the last bird is the queen. This fits in the fall because he could kill the queen. Death is that the fowler killed the last bird. But the last bird was the queen. This fits into the death because someone dies.
Another is that this author wrote this story because to tell people that you should be careful. And that the follower should have not killed her. The follower should have talked to the queen and listened to her. This author also wrote this story because he wants to let you know that this happens in the real world. He wasn’t listening to the queen.

The Clearing
What would you do if you where a farmer and you where burning brush
and the fire gets out of control. This is what happens in the short
story “The Clearing” by Jesse Stuart. The story was great because once
you started to read the story you couldn’t stop. This short story also
fits in the comedy mode of literature in this short story. If the fire got
out of control I would yell for help.
To begin with this short story fit in the comedy mode of literature.
The normal day life starts with the Hinton’s family and Fin’s family
getting ready for a new year for farming. This fits in the normal every
day life because farmers always are getting ready for next year. Also Fin
and his brother are the main character is in conflict because they don’t
get along with their neighbors. This also fits in the plot line because
Fin and his brother where throwing rocks at their neighbors. The conflict
is realized because they end up help each other. Fins mom has to helping
deliver a baby and while the Fins family is burning their brush and gets
out of control so Hinton's family help stop the fire. The resolution is
that they both help each other. Than we return back to everyday life. They
are friends and now there plowing for the new season.

characteristics. The characteristics in the short story are that this
story could be realistic. The main characters are in control. This short

Childgood Memories
My childhood memories are when I was 3 or 4. I was really thirsty for water.
So I walked to the bathroom sink. I got my training toilette and I moved the
toilette under the bathroom sink and then stood on the toilette so I could reach
the sink. So I turned on the sink and the putt my head under and drank some water
when I was drinking I slipped. There was a towel hock right next to the sink. So I
slipped and my ear got caught by the hock. So I called for help and my mom came
over to try to get me off the hock. My mom couldn’t get me off the hock. So I was
hanging by the hock and my mom called 911. The ambulance came and the people then
they got my off of the hock. Than went to the doctor and got stitches.
I learned from this experience that I should not drink water putting my head
under the sink . And that I should of not of stood on my toilette to get a drink of
water. I remember this story because my mom kept telling me the story when I was
little that is why I still know the story and will not forget it. That is one of my
child hood memories.

A Secret For two
A Secret For Two
What would you do if your horse died and you where blind and had counted on
him for 5 years? This is what happened in the short story “A Secret For Two” by
Quentin Reynolds. This short story was good because it fits in the tragic mode of
literature which are very enjoyable. The short story was good because when you
read, you want to keep going to the next page, which makes story good. If my horse
died it would be the worst day of my life. I would have to get a new horse, to
train all over again because I’m blind would know me and would.
To begin with, this short story has the tragic mode of literature. The world
is in conflict for the main character because Pierre’s boss wants Pierre to retire
from delivering milk in the village. Rise to power is that Pierre doesn’t want to
retire he wants to keep working. Tragic flaw was that Pierre was blind and his
boss did not know. Tragic fall Pierre’s horse dies. Death symbolism is that Pierre
dies because he is blind had to get a new horse and because he couldn’t see, he got
killed by a truck.

What would you do if someone told your boss that you smocked, drank, and
did drugs and someone got fired? This is what happened in the short
story “The Catbird Seat” by James Thurber. This short story was good because
once you start reading you can’t stop because you always want to know what is
happening next. If that happened to me I would be really mad because someone
is telling a lie.
To begin with this story is a tragic mode of literature. The world was
in conflict because Mr. Martin is trying to “rub out” pg 5 Mrs. Barrows.
There also is a rise to power in this short story because Mr. Martin never
messes up. The tragic flaw is that Mr. Martin wants to change his plans after
knowing exactly what he wanted to do. There is a tragic fall because Mrs.
Barrows tells the boss that Mr. Martin was smoking and doing drugs. She was
telling the truth. It ends with the death symbolism. In this story is Mrs.
Barrows get’s fired for tell the truth to the boss who was fooled by Mr.
Martin.
Another surprising thing about this tragedy is the purpose. The Purpose
is to teach a moral lesson. This story’s moral lesson is to know that people
lie and that you should not trust everyone. Just like in the story Mr. Martin

Hatchet
What would you do if you had to survive on your own? This is what happened
in the book Hatchet by Gary Paulson. This book was good because once you start
reading you can’t stop because you always want to know what is happening next.
There is a lot of action and many life lessons in this book that make it fun to
read.
To begin with this story has a lot action because the pilot of the plane
has a heart attack and dies. Brian was thirteen and this was his first time on a
plane and had to fly the plane by himself. The plane runs out of gas and Brian has

Billy
In Pewaukee there was a guy named Billy. Billy had no friends. No one liked lime.
Everyone thought he was weird. He always wore black and never talked to anyone. One
day he went to the store to by some yogurt. He wanted straw berry. But they we all
out. He got so sad that he ran crying to his mommy, then she said we can make
homemade strawberry yogurt. Billy said ya. When he got his yogurt it wasn’t yogurt
it was something he wasn’t suppose to have. So then he went to school the next
morning feeling really sick. He thought he has the flu. Then he threw up all over
the principle. She looked really mad. She was all oh “my gosh” you are so rude. And
mean. And a butt. And then she said I’m going to sue you. So he already sued her a
long time ago and he didn’t even remember.

Packers
The packers are the best team in the NFL they about to win the supper bowl . They are
vs the Stealers and the packers are going to win. I think that it will be 38 packers
and 0 stealers. If they win I will jump in the snow. They will because they have
Aaron Rodgers, Bj Ragi, Jams Starks, and Clay Mathews. And that is how they are going
to win.

Super Bowl
The super bowl is the best game to watch because whoever wins is the champions.
This game will be the best because the Green Bay Packers are in and that is
really exciting. I like the super bowl because of the commercial because
sometimes the commercials are in 3d and it is really cool. I am cheering for
the GREEN BAY PACKERS because I am from Wisconsin. And that is why I like the
super bowl I also like the halftime show.

Snow day
I think that tomorrow we will get a snow day. Because we are supposed to get 10-15
inches of snow that is a lot of snow. That is enough snow to close school. If we get
a snow day I will jump In the snow and I will be really happy. I love snow it is the

flakes on the tree. That is why I like snow. I like sledding down the hills and like

Deep Water
Deep Water
Why do you think the author wrote this story? William O. Douglas is the author of
the article Deep Water. This story is about when the main character got thrown into
the water by a big bully. He is in his mind planning what he will do when he
descends to the bottom of the pool. He thinks that he will push off of the bottom
of the pool. The author tells this story to let people know that you should not
play around water and that you should know how to swim.
To begin with, when William walked into the YMCA pool and said “The pool at the
YMCA had tilled bottom and was as white and as clean as a bathtub”. When the big
bruiser came William described the bully as having thick hair on his chest and had
his mussels showing and looked really tough. When he was thinking about his ideas
he sank he thought that he would kick of the tile and would paddle to the edge of
the pool. William was waiting to reach the bottom still was planning to push off
the bottom but he thought it was deeper like 90 feet, but it was only 9 feet. He
was really scared because he tried to kick but didn’t work. His lung got full of
water and he was going to pass out.
In the first place this author wrote this article because he was trying to tell
people that you should not be afraid of water. He had a fear of water he was afraid
of water because the waves of the ocean had knocked him over and was afraid. The
author wants you to know that you should take swimming lessons. Being a trying to
tell bully is not a good thing people in water because who gets pushed in might not
know how to swim. The bully’s action could kill the victory. The author wrote this
article. To tell people that water can be dangerous.
This story made me feel said because the bully pushed the main charter in and all
most killed him because he didn’t know how to swim. The story could fit in a

The Pearl
The Pearl
What would you do if you had the pearl of the world? John Steinbeck was the author of The Pearl. The Pearl was a great book because of the characters Kino, Juana, and Coyotito. In the beginning of the book Coyotito was in a hanging box and a scorpion was crawling down the string and Kino could not get the scorpion fast enough and stung Coyotito. It was a tragedy story and everyone always wanted to know what was happening next. If the pearl would to be mine I would be the happiest person in the world and would sell it and get money.
To begin with late is use to show the characters in the book. In the beginning of the book the book described Kino that he had wavy black hair and a brown fore head. That he had a mustache and was wearing hat. The book all so described Juana’s looks. That she has black hair dark eyes wore a blue shawl and Braids tied with ribbons. The book described Coyotito that he was in a hanging box and he was wrapped in a blue shawl.
The doctor wouldn’t come because they where pore. So Kino went pearl fishing and he saw a really shiny thing in a clam so he went to go check and the clam shut its mouth. So he grabbed the clam and opened the clam and it was the pearl of the world. And everyone wanted the pearl. People would try to rob his house and a robber stabbed Kino. Then Juana took the pearl and was going to through the pearl the water. But Kino caught her and punched her and kicked her. The a person was going after the pearl and killed him. Then he walked back to his house and his house was on fire. So he lived at his brothers house for one day and he know that he would go to jail for killing the man so he left and saw the tracer that where after him so he tricked him and now Kino And Juana And Coyotito are in a cave. The trackers where at the bottom of the cave resting. Kino was dressed in all white so he had to take of his clothes because of the moon light. And put his knife on his back. So it wouldn’t cling on the rocks. He was going to kill the three men. He was right behind the man with the rifle. Coyotito cried and the men heard a coyote. So the man shot his rifle and Kino jumped and killed the man. And shot the two other men. When Kino met up with Juana Coyotito died.
In the end thing turned out ok for Kino and Juana. No one wants to rob them again because Kino threw the pearl in the water. And when he had the pearl everyone wanted the pearl. And Kino had very bad luck. If I had the pearl it would make me very happy and would sell the pearl for a lot of money.

End Of Book Reflection
In the end of the book Kino was dressed in white clothes so he took of his clothes because the moon was out and wanted to kill the three men. The men heard a coyote and it was Coyotito crying. So the man with the rifle shoot and Kino was right behind the man with the rifle. And Kino jumped and knifed the man with the rifle and killed him. he shoot the other two men. And when the rifle shoot off from the man with the rifle Coyotito's head blew off. And they where really sad. And Kino gave Juana the pearl but she did't want it. Then Kino threw the pearl in the water.

Reflection
That I like the action. I like the when the baby got stung by the scorpion and the doctor didn't come. And then the doctor didn't come because they dident have the money. then they whet pearl diving and found the pearl of the world. And they had enough money. that is what is cool. I think that this is a tragedy book.
Why does Juana believe the pearl will destroy her and Kino? How will the pearl destroy them? Give examples to support your opinion.
Because the pearl is leading them in the wrong direction. And that the should spent the pearl so that the pearl wont haunt them. The pearl destroys them because everyone wants it. Kino doesn't want to destroy the pearl because they need it for the baby so it can get well. I think they should berry the pearl really deep and forget about the pearl.
