Cookie In a Box

         I was a cookie on the Pick En Save shelve. Stacked in a box with all my other friends. I loved to see people pass by because that meant that I had more days to come.  But on Christmas day all the cookies where gone except me there was one last visitor looking at me. They could see me but couldn’t reach me. Until the worker came and got me all the way in the back. The kids all wanted me to eat on Christmas morning. They left me on a plate with a couple other so that they could eat me next morning. When they went to bed I saw a cup of milk and wondered why he was there. The next minute a guy walked in and saw that Santa was here to save the day. He ate all of the other cookies except me. He was hungry of all the other cookies he and the million he has to still eat. When he left I wondered on what the kids would feel like with all of the cookies gone but then I remembered its Christmas and your supposed to leave cookies out. As he left me I rolled off the plate and walked down the street to see some friends at the grocery store. When he hoped back into a box he know he had a day to live. And that’s the end of the store.

Symbolism

         In the story The Lottery Shirley Jackson there are many symbols. One of the symbolism  is the  black box. The black box meant death and tradition because every year they would pick a name from the black box and who every won get rocks thrown at them. Another symbolism is the black rocks because the rocks meant death and torture. It meant death because the rocks would kill you and when the rocks are getting thrown at you are getting tortured.

         Another reason is the black spotted ticket is it meant death and curse.  It meant that because when you got picked you would die because the rocks would kill you. This is important because if there was not winner there would be not point with this tradition.  Also this is a tradition so there has to be a winner every year.

A crack in a mirror.

I once was the prettiest mirror in town. Until the most evil guy came in town. He went to go wash his dirty hands when he looked in the mirror. When he look in the mirror he gave it the hardest punch of all. He hated mirrors so bad he got arrested for being the mirror cracking thief. He was a thief because he would crack the mirror and they take all of the little pieces back home.  The police said fix the mirror while your in jail. The mirror might have had millions of little cracks but the town was happy and the mirror was still the prettiest mirror in town. Once he fixed the mirror he never punched them again.

Bikes Benefit All

       Authors Note: This is a 5 paragraph essay that shows Pewaukee School Distract why kids should be allowed to ride their bikes to and from school. 

            Why should kids at Pewaukee School Distract be allowed to ride bikes to and from school? There are many reasons why kids should be able to ride their bikes. But with Pewaukee new rules they have stopped us from ridding our bikes to and from school. This is why I am here to protest agents Pewaukee’s new rules that have taken in place. There are kids that live within the boundaries can’t get rides from the busses and majority of the parents are working. They have two options to walk to school or ride a bike. Also school pays the crossing guards to walk us across the street safely. There are many reason why kids should be able to ride there bike at school because it a fast and efficient way of getting to and from school.  

To start my argument, when there are after school programs that are occurring like basketball practices and track and you have no way of getting a ride home. Most people would say go ride a bike but all of the new rules that have taken place at Pewaukee Schools would be against the new rules. Also if you live within the mile radios from school they would have two options to walk to school or ride a bike. Majority of the kids would chose to ride bikes because it is faster than walking.

           On the other hand, when walking to and from school it takes a large amount of time out of you day. There are kids that don’t want to be late to school and when they can’t get a ride from the buss there can be problems. Bikes are supper efficient because they don’t run on gas or any harmful wastes to hurt the environment. That is why it is important to be able to ride your bike to school.

           Another reason why kids should rid their bike’s to school is because the school pays the crossing guards help with the traffic the same as they do with the people. They help walk or ride their bikes. And what was previously said by school staff would be prohibited on school grounds. 

To close my argument, there are many reasons why kids should be allowed to ride there bike to school. Science the new rules have taken place it would be prohibited on Pewaukee Schools grounds. Kids have after school clubs like basketball and track and have no way of getting home. The only way on getting home fast and efficient is to ride there bike. Kids won’t be late if there ride there bike’s to school. There are reasons why kids should be able to ride there bike to and from school because it a quick and efficient way of getting to and from school.

In order for humans to live healthy you need fat/oil, carbohydrates, protein, enzymes, and nucleic acids. What happens when you have too many of the five organic compounds necessary for life? When people have too many of the five organic compounds they can have a higher risk of getting heart disease and high blood pressure. Also they can make you obese. What happens when you have to not enough? People try to stay away from these five compounds because they’re afraid of getting fat but you need them to live. You won’t have much energy to make it to the end of your day. The five organic compounds necessary for life relates to cells because the molecules like the fat/oil, carbohydrates, protein, enzymes, and nucleic acids are going in and out of the cell. Everyone needs the five organic organisms in order to live.

To start my journey, fats and oils can be good and bad for you. Fats and oils are good for you if you eat in proportion. When you don’t have enough fats and oils you won’t have enough energy to make it through the day (Penick).Many people are afraid if they eat too much fat because they can get obese and they have a higher risk of heart diseases and high blood pressure(Everything You Want to Know About Body Fat). Also when you have too many oils you have a better chance of getting nosebleeds, bruising of the skin or internal bleeding (Marie).

To further elaborate, carbohydrates are the main source in your body that makes energy (Worden). When you eat too many carbohydrates it can give you a higher risk of diabetes. People always think that when you cut all you carbohydrates you will lose weight faster. You will lose some weight but that is not the way to lose weight. The way to lose weight is to work out.

On the other hand, protein builds muscle and helps keeps you body going (Learning About Proteins). When you have too much protein you have a tendency to gain weight (Jun). When you don’t have enough protein you won’t build muscle (Jun). After you work out always make sure you drink or eat enough protein or you won’t build muscle. After you work out make sure not to have too much protein otherwise all the calories you have lost are back on you.

Also, enzymes are a molecule the makes a chemical reaction in all living organism (Nadler).When you have to many enzymes you will experience gas and discomfort (Nadler). Also when you don’t have enough enzymes you won’t live (Enzyme definition).

Last but not least, what are nucleic acids? What makes up the nucleic acids? Nucleic acids are very important because everyone has different nucleic acids and nucleic acids are formed out of chromosomes (What is DNA?). We get chromosomes form out parents. Also there are abnormal nucleic acids (What is a chromosome?). One abnormal that can occur is a deletion and they are a portion of wear the chromosome is missing or gets deleted (Chromosome Abnormalities).

 To close my case, people on the globe has to have the five organic organisms in order to survive a good live. If you have too much of any of the five organic organisms you live is endangered. When you don’t have enough of the five organic organisms you’re putting your life at risk. This is why it is good to eat the right amount of foods if you don’t want to gain weight and have a better chance of getting heart disease.

Setting Your Future

Authors note: This is a persuasive essay to show why people should go to college instead of just having a just a high school diploma.

Why should people go to college? College makes life a whole lot easier to find a job. Even though college costs a lot of money it will help you in the long run. College gives you more experience with the updated technology than it would if you just had a high school diploma. People should go to college to get good pay and to get a good job.

To start my journey, college costs a hefty amount of money without a scholarship, grant, or fanatical assistant. When you start out with college you have no money because you have to pay for all of your college bills but in the long run you will start to make money and life will turn out spectacular. Manny people may think that if you have a high school diploma you make enough money to live with. It would be hard not graduating college because you have to pay for all of your bills that you come across in life. When people graduate college they will make enough money to have a big house and not have to worry about the bills that may come by.

Another reason why it is good to graduate college is to get a job. If you want to go to the military you have to go to college because they want you to have the knowledge to become pilot or to work on a submarine. If you don’t go to college you would not know how to fly an airplane or how to work on a boat. That’s why it is so important to go to college. Also the way the economy is many people that never went to college and are trying to get jobs but are having no success. Because the owners of a business are looking for people that have more skill and knowledge then them.

Also when you go to college it gives you more experience with update technology. When you go to school they teach you the basics on what you will need to learn in life. But when you go to college they teach you things that you want to be for an example if you want to be a computer programmer they will teach you all that you will need to have a computer job. But if you learn computer programming in high school they are not going to teach you everything that you will need to have a computer job.

To close my case, as you can tell you have to graduate college to get a good job. It is easier to get a job with a college degree than with just a high school diploma. Despite that fact that college cost a good amount of money you will start to earn money in the long run. Also college gives you more experience with updated technology. If you want a good job and good pay college is good for you.

Big Yellow Taxi and Field Below

To start my journey, both of these poems Big Yellow Taxi and Field Below are trying to teach us that we don’t know what we got till it’s gone. The mood in both of the song is sad and the mood in both of the poem is sympathetic. Both of the authors are talking about big cities. They are different because one is talking about they are cutting down trees and there putting up a parking lot. And the other one is talking about that she can’t see the field below.

The poem relates to the novel because it shows the audience to always do your best. The speaker is Donald and the audience is Claudia. The tone in the poem is perseverance and the mood is sad.

What would you do if you got a second chance to turn your life around? This is what happens in the book Touching Sprit Bear by Ben Mikaelsen. The main character Cole Matthews was a bully to other kids like to Peter. Cole beat peter up that Peter ended up with speech problems. Cole got into a lot of trouble for what he had done he had to pick if he wanted to live on an Alaskan island for one year or go to jail for one year. Cole picked to live on the Alaskan island for one year because he thought it would be easy to live all by himself on a island than to go to jail. Cole was wrong he got mulled by a white spirit bear breaking majority of his bones and ended up in the hospital. Garvey wanted Cole to change in his life. The court was deciding if Cole should get a second chance or to go to jail for one year. The court decide that he should get a second chance but he would have to sell all of his stuff to pay for his shelter and for all the supplies he will need for one year for him to live on the island. The climax in the story is when Cole get the second chance because you can’t go back once you changed. If anyone got a second chance they would take it for granted and not ruin their chance.

This book taught Cole a big lessens. The climax in the story Touching Spirit Bear is when Cole gets his second chance on the island because you could turn back. When he rolled the rock down the hill taught him a big lesson he thought that was dub walk all the way up the hill and then roll a rock down a hill. But later on it showed him that he needs to roll away his anger. And the sticks, try to break the left side off the stick that impossible you always will have a left side. When he saw a animal and do the dance of the animal at the campfire. Also when Cole when in to the cold pond that made him change. When Cole said to Garvey” How Is Peter” you can see that the character changed in the story. He cares for Peter you can see on what he said. And when Garvey said” Not Well” That mad Cole think. Then Cole said” I Wish I Could Help Him Some How”.

To close my case, people in the world could all get second chances they would all take it for granted. The main character Cole changed a lot throughout the story. From when Cole had to break the left side of the stick off and he couldn’t and when Cole had to roll his anger down the hill. Cole. All of these lessons thought Cole different things. You can tell the main character changed because he asked “How Is Peter” He was thinking about the person that he hurt. And Garvey said” Not Well” and Cole said“I Wish I Could Help Him Some How”. And you could see that he is caring for the person that he hurt.

His Drem Come True

Outside of a small town Pewaukee there was this boy Zach that was picked on and bullied. Zach had courage and wanted to be an all-star baseball player for the Milwaukee Brewers. Kids thought the he was bad at baseball player. His parents told Zach that he was a spectacular baseball player and told him to never give up. Fifteen years later he was on the Milwaukee Brewers baseball team and the kids that bullied him felt ashamed of themselves.

In New York there was a slim man with red long hair named Mike. He was the New York’s best writer in town. His best friend Jim was his spectacular chauffeur. Mike always was audacious when he was writing. Mike always wrote books where people asphyxiate each other like Jacob asphyxiated the man on the side of the street. People always like his writing they even wrote their own analogy to his story’s and other story’s.

Donald Zinkoff always wants to go to “bring your son to work day.” He had to make a million letters, but that didn’t stop him. His little mail bag stuffed with all letter like a stuffed garbage can. My friends make fun of my big birth mark under my ear lobe and my brown hair. Kids always love when I laugh because it takes the time away from class. When all the kids made fun of me I was so scared I was scared to death. My life is a hopeless little plant that can’t protect it.
 
My friends see me show my little brother right from wrong. My life is lonely with all bullies at school. My neighbor that lives right across the street is shay and scared just the same as I. People say I’m clumsy and that my hand writing is atrocious. People see me try to make friends but they just won’t accept me. I love to go to school but I don’t know if I’m going to like all the bullies.

 

Surviving In The Wilderness

What would you do if you had to survive one your own in the wilderness? This is the main theme in both of the books Guns For General Washington by Seymour Reit and Touching Spirit Bear by Ben Mikaelsen. Cole Matthews the main character in Touching Spirit Bear had to pick if he wanted to go to jail or an Alaskan island for one year because of his bad behavior. Also, Cole burned down shelter and all of his supplies, then that made him have to find his own food. Will Knox and his crew in Guns For General Washington ran out of supplies during the middle of the war and they had to try and outsmart the British while carry 183 cannons. If anyone had to survive on their own in the wilderness they would probably get scared.

To start my journey, Cole Matthews the main character in the book Touching Spirit Bear was forced to pick to live in jail for one year or to live on an Alaskan island for one year. He picked to live on an Alaskan island for one year because he thought it was a piece of cake to survive on his own. This book is a survival book because he had to think of how he could control his anger. He always had a hard time controlling his anger. Now he had no one to beat up or no one to talk to. He had to survive on his own cutting enough wood for him to last through the winter and cover the wood with a tarp so it won’t get wet.

Another reason why reason why the main theme in the book Touching Spirit Bear is survival is because when Cole had to survive on the island he burned down his shelter. Because in his mind he thought everything and everyone hated him and he got mad and burned down his only shelter. Now he had to find his own food and sleep in the wilderness. This changed his stay on the Alaskan island. He also saw this white spirit bear and saw that it wasn’t afraid of him and that made Cole mad and he tried to kill the bear and the bear attacked back breaking majority of his bones.

Also, there are many books that have survival for theme main theme like Guns For General Washington. Will Knox and his crew are in the middle of the war batting agents the British. Their main theme is survival because they run out of supplies they have no ammo or artillery to win the war. Their forced to outsmart the British by walking throw the wilderness caring 183 cannons. This is making everyone tired and hungry with no supplies.

To close my case, the are many books that have survival for the main theme like Guns For General Washington and Touching Spirit Bear. Cole the main character has to go to a Alaskan island because he made bad choices through his life. Cole also burned down his only shelter to live in making him lay on the ground. Authors Note; This is a predicting piece that shows Cole’s point of view one year after the story, and what Cole is up to now and what made him get to the point. Also how he feels about what happened looking back in the story.

When Peter told on Cole for robbing a hardware store Cole smashed his face on a side walk and gave Peter speech problems. This made Cole in deep trouble with the community forcing Cole to live on an Alaskan island for one year or got to Jail for one year. He picked the island because he thought it would be a piece of cake to live on the island for one year. He was wrong he ended up getting attacked by a white spirit bear because he saw that the bear wasn’t afraid of him and in his mind he thought that everything and everyone was afraid of him and that made him mad and Cole had to leave the island. The cercal of justice and they decided to give Cole a second chance. The cercal of justice said that Cole would have to pay for the shelter and supplies by selling his stuff that he owned. Cole took that second chance as if it was a gift from god. If anyone got a second chance they would take it for granted.

Also one year later from when Cole had the second chance. When I look back in my life I could not believe that’s how I acted. If I could go back into my life I would turn it around, I would not bully kids and not beat up Peter. When I look in the story I see myself as mean, and a bully. I have gone a long way now I’m not beating up people. I’m going to collage to be a Doctor to help kids that are sick or hurt. I’m at the point where I am now because when I got beat up by the bear I was hurt and there where people there for me. And I want to be there for other kids. People care for me and I want to be there for others.

To close my case, I have changed a lot through my life. One year ago when I mulled by a bear I was scared and never thought that I not was going to survive. If Gravey didn’t care about me I would be dead by now. In my mind I thought that everyone and everything was afraid of me. But science I had my second chance I have gone a long way. Many people always want second chances.

Have you ever wondered how a character changes in a story by a quote? This is what happens in the book Touching Spirit Bear by Ben Mikaelsen. Cole Mathews the main character in the story Touching Spirit Bear made bad choices throughout his life. He had to pick if he wanted to life on an Alaskan island for one year or go to jail for one year. He picked the Alaskan island because he thought that it would be a piece of cake. When he was on the island he saw a white spirit bear it was calm and wasn’t afraid of Cole. Cole thought that everyone and everything was afraid of him that made Cole mad that the bear wasn’t afraid of him so he tried to kill the bear. The bear attacked breaking majority of his bones. When Gravey helped him get on the island he said he would check up on him. Gravey took him to the hospital and Rose the nurse helped him. Cole said on pg 106”Why do you guys help me?” And that quote is the changing point in the story. Majority of the people always wonder how a character changes in a story.

To start my journey, When Cole said “Why do you guys help me?” on page 106” Is a very important quote because it shows that the character changed in the story. I think that this quote “Why do you guys help me” is the turning point in the story Touching Spirit Bear because when Cole went to the island he burned down the shelter because he thought no one cared about him. But Cole was wrong Garvey and Rosey cared about Cole. Garvey wanted Cole to change in his life. Rosey help Cole in the hospital and helped him recovery.

To Close my case Cole Mathew’s changes in the story Touching Spirit Bear said “Why do you guys help me”. He thought that no one cared about him. He thought that everyone hated him and no one liked him. Garvey cared for him and wanted him to change in his life.

What would you do if you got attacked by a white spirit bear? This is what happens in the book Touching Spirit Bear by Ben Mikaelsen. Cole Matthews was a big bully and stole from other people. All of his bad choices got Cole in huge trouble during his life. Cole had to decide if he wanted to go to jail or go to the Native American circle of justice. He picks the Native American circle of justice and now has to go to an Alaskan island for one year by himself to fix his problems. If anyone got attacked by a white spirit bear they would be frightened and scared.

To begin with one major conflict in the story Touching Spirit Bear, is that Cole Matthews thinks everyone and everything is afraid of him. When Cole goes to the Alaskan island for one year he spots this white spirit bear and wants to kill it for food. He believes that the bear is afraid of him when he is on his way toward the bear. He is about to kill the bear and the bear attacks him breaking majority of his bones and ripping him apart.

On the other hand this story is a great person vs. nature book because it shows Cole that he shouldn’t bully in his life. Cole got attacked by a white spirit bear because he was trying to kill the bear to food. He wanted food because he needed food to survive. Cole could have prevented this if he had never tried to attack the white sprit bear for food. He could have gone fishing or tried to kill something else to get food.

However he got attacked by the bear he could have prevented this if he didn’t bully others. He got on this island because Peter told on him for doing something wrong. We all hate when people tattle on others and you want to hurt them but if Cole didn’t attack peter he would have had never had to go to the Alaskan island. And if peter wouldn’t have told on him peter would have not be hurt and Cole would for to jail for stealing from the hardware store.

To sum up my case how would you do if you got attacked by a white spirit bear? Cole had gotten in huge trouble over his life and got attacked by a bear. He could have prevented from being attacked by the white sprit bear by fishing instead of trying to kill the white spirit bear. Also he could have stopped bulling others and wouldn’t even go to the island. The majority of the people would try to escape if they got attacked by a bear.

Go Big Or Go Home

Authors Note: This is a retelling peace that shows what hapend in the book go big or go home.

It is about a teenager that finds a meteorite and shows his cousin that he found a meteorite and they’re going to a scientist to take a look at it. Is this going to be the most valuable meteorite in the world? This book is a great adventure packed book. Important event is when he and his cousin are in a boat and his backpack falls in the water with the meteorite in the backpack. What will happen next?

In Rogers Eyes

Authors Note: This is a paragraph written from Roger's perspective to inform you on what he was feeling the other night.

Hi my name is Roger and I felt like a criminal last night around 11:00. I looked around the corner and saw a large woman Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones and I thought she was a perfect target. I garbed her purse with all my strength I tugged but lost my balance and fell to the ground. Then she kicked me in the right square of my blue-jeaned sitter. I felt ashamed of myself as she picked me up, all I wanted was a pair of shiny blue suede shoes I told her. She took me to her home and helped me wash my face. The door was wide open. I looked at the women then looked at the door and eventually went to the sink. I was ashamed of myself. She seemed nice and I wish I never had tried to take her purse. By the end of the night she gave me the 10 dollars I needed to buy the suede shoes I desperately wanted.

A Town Called Pineapple

In this little town Pineapple in the state of Blueberry. There is a lot of audacity, kids and adults always encourage one another. This little town has lot of tourist attraction because there are a lot of mountains to climb and there are some spectacular bike trails. People always have an analogy because they keep comparing Pineapple to this town Pewaukee; they say they look the same. Tomorrow is a big day for Pineapple because it is the 4th of July. That is when they have a lot of tourists and they need to keep their town safe. There is this man that asphyxiated the man called Billy. Everyone in the town was shocked. And they had to hire more cops to keep the place safer. This made the economy be better because they had a lot of people but not enough jobs. This is the best day for all the people because they all have a job now.
