Pizza

      Pizza is my favorite food to eat. because you can put what ever you want on it. like peperoni sausage. and it
is also easy to make. Because you just put it in the oven. it take around 15 min not that long if you watch a
show. Than the timer goes off. Than you take your pizza out of the oven. Than you cut your pizza into 8 slices.
Than get a plate and eat your pizza. that is why pizza is my favorite food.

Personal Metaphor

Authors note: this is metaphor is about my self each meaning something different.

I am a runner running in the breeze.

I and a bike riding down a hill.

I am a basketball bouncing on the floor.

I am a baseball floating in the air.

The Clearing

What would you do if you where a farmer and you where burning brush

and the fire gets out of control. This is what happens in the short

story “The Clearing” by Jesse Stuart. The story was great because once

you started to read the story you couldn’t stop. This short story also

fits in the comedy mode of literature in this short story. If the fire got

out of control I would yell for help.


To begin with this short story fit in the comedy mode of literature.

The normal day life starts with the Hinton’s family and Fin’s family

getting ready for a new year for farming. This fits in the normal every

day life because farmers always are getting ready for next year. Also Fin

and his brother are the main character is in conflict because they don’t

get along with their neighbors. This also fits in the plot line because

Fin and his brother where throwing rocks at their neighbors. The conflict

is realized because they end up help each other. Fins mom has to helping

deliver a baby and while the Fins family is burning their brush and gets

out of control so Hinton's family help stop the fire. The resolution is

that they both help each other. Than we return back to everyday life. They

are friends and now there plowing for the new season.


Another thing that fits in to the comedy mode of literature are the

characteristics. The characteristics in the short story are that this

story could be realistic. The main characters are in control. This short

story could be real because farmers are always getting ready for the new

year of planting crops. The farmers have to prune the bushes and then

burn the clearing so that the ground is clear. The main character is in

control because they become friends toward the end they are all friends

now.


In addition this short story is fits in to the comedy mode of

literature because it follows the comedy plot line. The story was good

because it was following the mode of literature which makes this short

story good. This short story is one of my favorite short stories because

it was following that mode of literature. If the fire got out of hand when

I was burning the brush I would scream for help.

Childgood Memories

My childhood memories are when I was 3 or 4. I was really thirsty for water.

So I walked to the bathroom sink. I got my training toilette and I moved the

toilette under the bathroom sink and then stood on the toilette so I could reach

the sink. So I turned on the sink and the putt my head under and drank some water

when I was drinking I slipped. There was a towel hock right next to the sink. So I

slipped and my ear got caught by the hock. So I called for help and my mom came

over to try to get me off the hock. My mom couldn’t get me off the hock. So I was

hanging by the hock and my mom called 911. The ambulance came and the people then

they got my off of the hock. Than went to the doctor and got stitches.



I learned from this experience that I should not drink water putting my head

under the sink . And that I should of not of stood on my toilette to get a drink of

water. I remember this story because my mom kept telling me the story when I was

little that is why I still know the story and will not forget it. That is one of my

child hood memories.

Summer

I love summer because there is no school which means no homework. Summer is the

best because you can go to your friend’s house. You also can go to the beach and the

Wisconsin dells. The best thing about summer is that you can go swimming and you can

play baseball. I like summer because you can watch the Brewers play at home.

Spring

Spring is my favorite season because it means that summer is on its way and

winter is going away. I love spring because Easter is coming up which gives us a

spring break. Also my birthday is coming up. And I love spring because the Brewers

start their season. That is why I love spring and last but not least the snow goes

away and the weather is warmer.

A Secret For two

A Secret For Two


What would you do if your horse died and you where blind and had counted on

him for 5 years? This is what happened in the short story “A Secret For Two” by

Quentin Reynolds. This short story was good because it fits in the tragic mode of

literature which are very enjoyable. The short story was good because when you

read, you want to keep going to the next page, which makes story good. If my horse

died it would be the worst day of my life. I would have to get a new horse, to

train all over again because I’m blind would know me and would.


To begin with, this short story has the tragic mode of literature. The world

is in conflict for the main character because Pierre’s boss wants Pierre to retire

from delivering milk in the village. Rise to power is that Pierre doesn’t want to

retire he wants to keep working. Tragic flaw was that Pierre was blind and his

boss did not know. Tragic fall Pierre’s horse dies. Death symbolism is that Pierre

dies because he is blind had to get a new horse and because he couldn’t see, he got

killed by a truck.


Another thing that defines this mode of literature are the characteristics.

This story could happen in real life because back then they did delivered milk by

horse. The horse was his friend and he could because he is getting old. The man was

blind, and counted on the horse. The main character is in control because his horse

is helping Pierre deliver the milk.


On the other hand if my horse died I would be really sad and would have to get

a new horse and start all over training it and getting to know it. This short story

was good because once you started to read you couldn’t stop. You can’t stop,

because it fits in the tragic mode of literature. This is one of my favorite short

stories because it follows a mode of literature.

The Catbird Seat

What would you do if someone told your boss that you smocked, drank, and

did drugs and someone got fired? This is what happened in the short

story “The Catbird Seat” by James Thurber. This short story was good because

once you start reading you can’t stop because you always want to know what is

happening next. If that happened to me I would be really mad because someone

is telling a lie.


To begin with this story is a tragic mode of literature. The world was

in conflict because Mr. Martin is trying to “rub out” pg 5 Mrs. Barrows.

There also is a rise to power in this short story because Mr. Martin never

messes up. The tragic flaw is that Mr. Martin wants to change his plans after

knowing exactly what he wanted to do. There is a tragic fall because Mrs.

Barrows tells the boss that Mr. Martin was smoking and doing drugs. She was

telling the truth. It ends with the death symbolism. In this story is Mrs.

Barrows get’s fired for tell the truth to the boss who was fooled by Mr.

Martin.


Another surprising thing about this tragedy is the purpose. The Purpose

is to teach a moral lesson. This story’s moral lesson is to know that people

lie and that you should not trust everyone. Just like in the story Mr. Martin

lied and people believed him than someone told the boss about his behavior

and Mrs. Barrows got fired because the boss said he wouldn’t ever smoke or

drink or do drugs. There also are characteristics in the story that show the

main character is in control because everything goes his way. Also this story

could happen in real life because a lot of people lie in the real world.


Equally important is that if this would have happened to me in real life

I would go up to that person that is telling a lie and say. “Why did you lie

that is the wrong thing to do!” The short story was a good one because it

tells you that this could happen in real life. You keep reading because want

to know what the characters where going to do next. This also followed the

tragic mode of literature.
